We survey practicelaw users annually. Completing the survey takes a couple of minutes; the results guide planning and budgeting for the upcoming year.

Survey Says

I wanted to get Richard Dawson to kick off this post with his trademark “Survey Says…” but I could not get in touch with him. So, you’ll have to settle for me.

Back in December we asked you to fill out a survey regarding practicelaw. Some respondents wanted to know what we heard. Survey Said:

Of the 276 respondents, nearly half had over 21 years of experience and 80% were in solo or small firms (2-5 attorneys). Only 16% had practiced less than four years.

What you told us about practicelaw
Nearly two-thirds of the respondents indicated that practicelaw was “important or very important” in their decision to maintain their MSBA membership. In addition, 86% of respondents stated that they were “satisfied or very satisfied” with the materials available on practicelaw, with 91% indicating that the materials or services on the site were “good or excellent.”(...)

A Survey, Bah Humbug??

I rarely fill out surveys, so I am in an awkward position to ask you to do just that, but let me give it a try… So often when I blithely hit “delete” on a survey request, I am being asked to comment on a past experience. I think “I don’t have time to wax eloquent on something that has already happened.” Immediately after that self-important thought, I have a belittling one, that is, “Who cares what I think?”

Let me dissuade me from either of those responses with this survey request. Your survey comments are used by practicelaw staff to determine how to improve practicelaw in the future, starting now. We work for you, every one of you, and your individual and collective comments are a primary consideration when we plan for the upcoming years.(...)
